New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz and the blues, and the po'boy sandwich. The town overflows with history, interesting people, great food, ghosts, music and much, much more.

The French Quarter is the oldest part of town. It includes Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, and shops and restaurants famous for their blending of Louisiana and other culinary traditions.

The Central Business District next to the French Quarter includes the convention facilities--the Superdome, the brand-new New Orleans Arena, the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center--as well as the Riverwalk, the Aquarium of the Americas, Imax Theater, Riverboat cruises, Harrah's New Orleans Jazz Casino and other attractions along the banks of the Mississippi River.

The Warehouse/Arts District along the river is the site of a burgeoning artistic community with galleries open in many of the old warehouses. The shores of Lake Pontchartrain shelter the Old Spanish Fort, a resort built around a former fortress. The Jean Lafitte National Historic Park Barataria Preserve is a 20,000 acre preserve just outside of town containing pristine wildlife habitat.
